From the 70s to the modern-day greats, the San Antonio Spurs have had no shortage of generational players in their franchise who have all helped in achieving five NBA championships.
With the Spurs once again in the NBA Finals after a 12-year drought and looking to add the elusive sixth in their trophy cabinet, now feels like the right time to review the ten greatest players to have ever worn the Spurs jersey.
10. Victor Wembanyama
Starting the list off strong with the 7'4" Frenchman, Victor Wembanyama has already made a case for himself to be in the GOAT conversations should he continue to perform on the same trajectory.
The 22-year-old has already accumulated a Defensive Player of the Year Award, finished third in the MVP voting, and is currently on one of the best playoff runs we have seen in recent memory.
Sure, there are other Spurs legends, obviously having a more complete career than Wemby, but it would be fair to say that the Frenchman will stay in last place for only so long.

9. Alvin Robertson
Following Wemby on the list is a former Defensive Player of the Year and four-time All-Star, Alvin Robertson, who spent his first five years in the NBA with the Spurs.
Robertson averaged around 20 points and 6 assists every season with the Spurs except his rookie year, and is also the only guard to ever record a quadruple-double in a game.
8. Sean Elliot
It would be fair to include Elliot on the list at eighth, as he was among the Spurs roster that won a franchise-first NBA championship in 1999. Drafted third in the 1989 NBA Draft, Elliot spent 11 of his 12 seasons with the Spurs.
Elliot was also the producer of the iconic "Memorial Day Miracle" play, where he hit a late three-point conversion against the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 2 of the Conference Finals.
7. James Silas
While the Spurs never won a championship during Silas' tenure, he left a solid mark on the team in nine seasons. Silas' best season came in 1975-76 when he averaged 23.8 points (on 51.9% shooting no less), 4.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.
Silas finds himself sixth in total points and eighth in total assists, and had his jersey retired by the franchise in 1984.
6. Kawhi Leonard
Coming back to a modern name, Kawhi Leonard played a pivotal role in bringing the Spurs their fifth championship in 2014. He spent seven years with the franchise, gradually becoming one of the best players in the league.
Regardless of all the incredible stats and glory, Leonard would have been appreciated more if not for injuries. However, a Finals MVP against LeBron James' Miami Heat speaks volumes in itself.
5. Manu Ginobili
The Spurs were absolutely unstoppable in the early parts of this century, and Manu Ginobili was one of the major reasons why. Ginobili made the Spurs more stable as probably the greatest sixth player in history.
Even so, Ginobili is quite high on the Spurs' all-time leaderboards, with fifth-place in total points and rebounds, fourth in total assists, and first in total steals.
4. Tony Parker
Parker was the 28th pick in the 2001 NBA draft, and ended his career with four championships, six All-Star appearances, and a Finals MVP along the way. That is the level of impact he had with the franchise.
Parker, along with Ginobili, was part of one of the greatest dynasties the league has ever witnessed under head coach Gregg Popovich, which is still discussed as the prime standard of all teams to strive for.
3. George Gervin
Taking us back to the 70s is George Gervin, who moved to the Spurs in the 1973/74 season after establishing himself as an elite scorer in the ABA.
And he literally quadrupled his reputation once he joined the Spurs, winning four consecutive scoring titles.
In 899 games for the Spurs, he became their second-leading scorer of all time, was a nine-time All-Star, and made five consecutive All-NBA First Teams. Easy top 3.
2. David Robinson
Just missing out on the top spot is a player who has spent his entire career with the Spurs, and all 14 seasons were iconic in their own right.
Robinson was a force to be reckoned with in the 90s, having so many accolades that you will be searching his name on YouTube right after hearing them.
1992 Defensive Player of the Year, 1995 MVP, 10-time All-Star, a couple of NBA championships, and a plethora of All-NBA First team honors. Only one player can top him.
1. Tim Duncan
Five NBA championships with the franchise and Popovich's most trustworthy forward, Duncan played basketball on easy mode, averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds in his first season. He would maintain these numbers for each of his first six seasons in the league, rarely going below throughout the decade.
Duncan is the favored power forward in almost everyone's greatest team of all time. With a total of 19 seasons with the Spurs, the 15-year championship period between 1999 and 2014 was built around the icon.
The three-time FMVP's accolades are endless, but so is his love for the franchise and Gregg Popovich. It would be hard for anyone else to take him out of the top spot, but maybe Wemby can try.
So, who is your favorite Spurs player of all time? Let us know in the comments.
