LeBron James' announcement of signing with the Philadelphia 76ers has sent shockwaves throughout the NBA fraternity, including the new Sixers signing Anfernee Simons.

Simons joined Philadelphia early in free agency, even before the Jaylen Brown trade. With the team looking stronger than ever before, Simons recently hopped on the Cousins with Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady podcast and revealed his shocking reaction.

“I mean obviously you see everything that’s going on like in the media and stuff, so you see like that you know, LeBron could potentially go there, and you know, to me I gotta see it to believe it."

"So, I forgot what I was doing. I might have been working out, or actually I woke up. I just woke up, and I saw the news, and I was like, “Dang, this is crazy,” Simons said.

James signed a two-year deal with the Sixers and has seemingly changed the franchise's landscape. His signing has put Philadelphia on the map, with the league giving them the maximum amount of national TV games, with 34.

James could end up playing 25 seasons in the NBA if he sees out his current deal, and if we go back in history, James has won a championship with every single franchise he has been in.

The 76ers finished with a 45-37 record last season, securing the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They stunned the Boston Celtics in a 3-1 series comeback before losing in a four-game sweep to the New York Knicks in the semifinals.

But of course, with a lineup consisting of LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe, you would think the 76ers have a fair chance of reaching the NBA Finals.

For Simons, he could be the difference-maker the 76ers need off the bench.

Anfernee Simons Could be Key for the 76ers

With the recent additions of James and Brown, the 76ers' chances of winning it all have skyrocketed, and Simons has goals to play a part in it.

Gearing up for his ninth season, Simons was averaging 15.2 points, 3.0 assists, and 2.8 rebounds. These are crucial points that will add more value to the 76ers if Simons can produce them off the bench.

With a starting five that can cause any coach to think twice and a team hungry for success, the 76ers are the team to watch out for next season, and Simons will all but play a key part in helping his fellow star teammates.
