Ayesha Curry recently thought of doing some damage control regarding what she had said about her initial misconception about Steph Curry, but her efforts only subjected her to more criticism from fans.

Steph and Ayesha appeared on the March 25 episode of Michelle Obama's IMO podcast, where she admitted that the way she viewed "athletes" previously, including Steph, was very disrespectful. She also disclosed how athletes weren't on her dating list, since she viewed them as "cool" while labeling herself "nerdy."

After disclosing her "no-athletes' rule, Ayesha confessed, "It was very disrespectful on my part." She also disclosed the reason behind refraining from athletes, saying, "I have very textbook… maybe misconception… movie plot ideas of athletes. The jock stereotype. I was a theatre nerd, so I think I was protecting my peace."

Ayesha made a similar revelation during her appearance on a September 2025 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. However, this time she made a few remarks that didn't sit well with the fans.

Besides calling sports fans "ruthless," she also opined that Curry often fails to resonate with her. "He tries to resonate with me, but he just can’t," said the NBA star's wife.

Following her remarks, several fans called her out as they viewed her comments as disrespectful towards Steph. One also credited the Warriors' star for giving her a life she could've never had on her own.

Amid her appearance in the recent episode of the IMO podcast, Ayesha may have accepted that her views about athletes and Curry were disrespectful, but it can be safely said that most fans were in no mood to accept her apology.

What Fans Are Saying About Ayesha Curry’s Apology to Steph Curry?

People on social media had a lot to say about Ayesha's recent clarification. Fans picked apart her words and their relationship from every angle.

The comments on the aforementioned X update displayed that there are fans on both sides of the issue; some are happy with her honesty, while others are still not convinced.

One important voice said, "She only did that because the internet was giving her backlash," seeing the apology as damage control instead of real reflection.

The timing is important here; her explanation came months after the Call Her Daddy scandal got a lot of bad press online.

But some people were doubtful, with one user saying, "She'll still go on another podcast to say something silly about him after this," pointing to her history of being open on Red Table Talk, Call Her Daddy, and IMO.

Someone more positive said, "She cleared it up with grace," praising how Ayesha handled the misunderstanding on the IMO Podcast without getting defensive.

Another fan wrote, "Bro is winning on and off the court," showing how much they admire how Ayesha supports Steph Curry in public and how well he plays at 38. Another one conveyed similar emotions, writing, "Your apology is accepted."

The different responses show that there is a basic difference in how people understand celebrity apologies. Some fans are happy that Ayesha is willing to admit and fix her past mistakes, while others wonder if words alone can fix things or change people's minds about her marriage.

So, what is your opinion? Would you appreciate her for her acceptance?
