The Golden State Warriors re-signed forward Draymond Green after their failed pursuit of LeBron James. The Dubs star, who had willingly opted out of his contract to give the team flexibility this offseason, revealed an interesting fact about his fresh contract.
In the August 4 episode of The Draymond Green Show, the center confirmed that he didn't receive a no-trade clause from the Warriors this time. A no-trade clause is typically included in one-year deals, but Green waived even the implicit protection.
"It was reported that I did not receive the no-trade clause. No, I didn’t," Green said on Tuesday. "I think it was something that we could have fought over, but it wasn’t worth fighting over."

Green has been with the Warriors for 14 years now. The absence of a clause suggests the Warriors may pursue a star-level trade.
"You know, I think if the Warriors want to trade me at some point of the season, they want to trade me. I've never been a guy who wants to stay somewhere where I’m not wanted," Green added on The Draymond Green Show.
He also emphasized that he didn't think it was worth it to fight for the no-trade clause. Green's comments suggested he believes that if his partnership with the Warriors doesn't work out, he would let it come to its conclusion, rather than fighting to stay.
Green has been in trade discussions for the last two years. According to Marc Stein, Green would receive a 15% trade kicker if dealt before the deadline.
Draymond Green reveals further details of his contract
The Warriors star also revealed the details of the contract, adding that Green's re-signing amount with the team was the same as what he had opted out of to help the Warriors pursue LeBron.
"I did re-sign for the same amount that I opted out of. Obviously, there was hope that we would land a guy with the mid-level slot, but that didn’t happen," Green said on 'The Draymond Green Show.'
Green signed a one-year, $27.7 million deal with the Dubs, per Marc Stein.
Last season, the Warriors star averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. Green shot 41.8% from the field, including 32.6% from the 3-point line.
The Warriors were able to qualify for the Play-In Tournament for the fourth consecutive season with a 37-45 record. However, they failed to qualify for the playoffs after being defeated by the Phoenix Suns in the Play-In.
The Dubs are desperate for a successful season in the remaining Stephen Curry era. If they get an opportunity to bring in a good player in exchange for Green, they might move him.
