First Look: Nike Drops Visuals For Ja Morant's Highly Anticipated "Mismatch" Shoe

Nike is making a bold statement with Ja Morant's next signature shoe. The newly revealed Ja 3 'Mismatch' is a kids-exclusive release featuring a vibrant, non-identical design shoes. This look is directly inspired by the Memphis Grizzlies' team colors.

This orange and blue gradient theme is linked closely to Morant’s number 12 identity. The main feature of this sneaker is its entirely non-identical right and left shoes. The right shoe has a deep blue and purple mix base, while the left one shifts to an orange base.

The upper side uses an engineered knit, textured, and mesh base. It features zigzag patterns that relate to the “scratch” motif from previous Ja models. You will notice orange accents on the purple and blue heel, and blue text on the orange heel.

The heel tab presents the word “TWELVE” displayed to reference the jersey number of Morant. The overall design seems playful and vibrant, yet it remains solely focused on on-court performance.

Sneaker fans might have to wait a bit more, as the final launch is expected in the Summer 2026 window. Nike has strictly kept this release for kids, which means it won’t be available in the adult men’s category.

How the Ja 3 Advances the Signature Line

The biggest upgrade of this release from previous ones is the introduction of a full-length hybrid ZoomX foam midsole.

Taking a trip down to Ja 1 just reveals how far the signature line has come in such a short period. The initial model weighs 14.1 ounces and was much stiffer. The internal heel support and foam cushioning were also basic.

The Ja 2 version brought many improvements. The weight was down to 12.85 ounces and provided better comfort. The upper layer was more breathable and offered versatile performance for multi-directional gameplay. Although it still lacked the elite bounce that ZoomX offers.

Hence, Ja 3 is the latest leap for the entire series line. It features the most enhanced chsioning setup Nike has designed for Morant till now. Players can expect a smoother ride compared to older versions.
