Draymond Green has revealed what makes Stephen Curry a unique leader who thrives in chaos. The 38-year-old has been a cornerstone of the Golden State Warriors' offense and a mentor to the up-and-coming players.
In a recent episode of the "Post Moves Show" hosted by WNBA players Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston, Green commented on Curry’s leadership style during a discussion that stemmed from recent Warriors-related conversations in the 2026 NBA cycle.
When Parker asked him about what makes Curry "so special," Draymond Green replied:
"Everything is lighthearted with him, except it’s really not. He has this demeanor of like everything is cool. Baby face assassin, right? That's his demeanor, that's how he is. Everything cool, except everything not."
"He will have any tough conversation. Steph is willing to have a tough conversation before I’m willing to have a tough conversation. He thrives in tough conversations and within the chaos. Like this guy thrives... when it gets chaotic, he comes alive. He's straight to the point, he direct: 'It's this, it's that.' Done, moving on. He just has this ability that so welcoming. Everybody welcomed over here.”
For years, Draymond Green has been regarded as the emotional engine of the Golden State Warriors, bringing intensity and fire to games. Curry's relatively silent demeanor offers balance to the Steve Kerr-led team.
Green also highlighted how "secure" Curry is about himself and his place in the team. Even after the Warriors signed Durant, there were no power politics within the team, considering how both Curry and Durant are great shooters.
Green’s statement also sheds light on why the Warriors’ system has been so successful over the years.
Draymond Green's four picks for the Warriors' "Mt. Rushmore"
The Golden State Warriors has produced many great talents since its inception in the 1940s. While Stephen Curry might be an obvious choice for a Warriors' "Mount Rushmore," Draymond Green also had three other picks clear in his mind.
On the aforementioned podcast, Green revealed his four-person choice, saying, "I’ll say Steph Curry, Steve Kerr, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. I don’t think there’s any other way to slice that. We’re talking Mt. Rushmore, that would be importance, right? No question."
Green's "Mount Rushmore" snubs iconic players like Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry, who set many records playing for the team. However, the names he has included, all championship winners, cannot be neglected.
