One might assume that a generational talent like Stephen Curry would primarily get his drive and inspiration from within and from the sport, but those weren't his answers when he was asked where his ambition comes from.

Speaking to Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson on their podcast, Stephen revealed that he picked those things up from his wife, Ayesha Curry.

"I’ve learned from Ayesha what true ambition and passion really looks like on a daily basis. And that’s not just career-wise, that’s for your family. She lives everyday with her full self, and I know it’s scary and vulnerable at times because you want to kind of protect yourself, and she puts herself out there. I’m a little bit more reserved in that respect. " Stephen Curry said.

He continued, "And that fire, I wish I had more of it. I can get there on the court and, have those moments, but on a daily basis, I’m a little bit more even-keeled, and I wish had that instinct. She has it on a daily basis, and it motivates me. When things aren’t really going your way, that fire and that passion is a big deal. I definitely have learned a little bit from the way that she shows up in that way.

And while it was a rare moment to see the Baby-Faced Assassin turn off his methodical aggression and open up, he wasn't the only one who chose to give their partner their flowers.

Ayesha on What She Learned from Stephen Curry

While Stephen shared how he learned to be calm, Ayesha flipped the script, highlighting the traits she has learned from her husband in these 15 years, saying, “I think I learned from him… he is so even-keeled, and he can compartmentalize really big emotions very well. And he does know how to block out the noise.”

She continued, “I’ve never seen anything like it. Tomorrow he’ll be up 6:30… working on himself when he doesn’t even necessarily have to. And so, year after year after year, I’ve seen him do things when he doesn’t have to. Then I see the results that come from that, and it’s extremely inspiring.”

And while Ayesha Curry described herself as passionate and fiery, we're already familiar with Stephen's aggressive yet composed demeanor. Well, opposites do attract, we suppose!
