Kai Trump Sends Positive Message to Knicks Following Game 3 Loss in NBA Finals

It was a nerve-wracking Game 3 between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs won 115-111 and got their first win in the NBA Finals series, putting the series at 2-1 to the Knicks.

Kai Trump arrived at Madison Square Garden to watch the game from a box suite. Soon after the game ended with the Knicks losing, Kai took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message for the Knicks.

"The atmosphere was amazing. Let's get that win on Wednesday. Go Knicks," Kai wrote on her Instagram story.

The Knicks, who were on a 13-game winning streak in the NBA postseason, the second-longest in postseason history, were brought to a halt by the Spurs' performance. They last won the NBA title in 1973 and are competing in the Finals for the first time since 1999.

Although the 2025 NBA Cup MVP Jalen Brunson scored 32 points, dished out five assists and had five rebounds, it wasn't enough to keep the Spurs silent.

Furthermore, forward Victor Wembanyama and guard Stephon Castle became the first pair of teammates to score 20 points or more each, aged 22 or younger, in a Finals game.

But what does the Knicks coach think about this game, and what do they plan for Game 4?

New York Knicks' Coach On The Ongoing NBA Finals Series

The Knicks' coach, Mike Brown, credited the brilliant offensive stoutness of the Spurs amid his team's defensive struggles in Game 3.

"We turned the ball over, and we were stagnant offensively and we allowed them to get to the paint," Brown said. "And we did not pay attention to detail to what we are supposed to do defensively."

Brown is now focused on the next game, but was perplexed as to how the Spurs only fouled eight times in the second half. He also admits that the Spurs are a great team and wants to move ahead to the next game well prepared.

"I tell the guys, it’s a seven-game series for a reason. They are a great team," he said. "They are well-coached. They have an iconic player. It’s not going to be easy."

After a nail-biting three games, the series stands at 2-1 for the Knicks. Game 4 will take place on Wednesday, June 10.
