LeBron James Reveals Top 3 Highlight Moments From His 23-Year Long Career

Apr 4, 2026, 1:40 AM CUT

Over two decades in the NBA, LeBron James’ career has featured some unforgettable moments. It’s hard to choose one legacy-building moment over another because they are so big in magnitude.

Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers star reflected on the top three defining moments in his illustrious career. It was one of those times when we are reminded why he is considered the greatest by many NBA fans and players.

James ranked his historic cheese-down block on Andre Iguodala in Game 7 of the NBA Finals that still echoes in the league as “The Block.” It was not just another LeBron’s signature chase-down block, but one that sealed the Cleveland Cavaliers’ historic comeback against the Golden State Warriors in 2016.

His second choice was his thunderous dunk on Jason Terry. In 2013, he dunked on Terry from an olley-oop. Terry had been trash-talking James about the 2011 NBA Finals loss when the King lost to the Dallas Mavericks.

Lastly, he chose his final minutes takeover in the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals. James scored 25 straight points for the Cavs and 29 of their last 30 points. It was the earliest look at the sheer dominance that LeBron would have on the league in the coming years.

While these are the standout moments for James himself, there are a few more to point out in his long and illustrious career.

Three more biggest highlights from LeBron James’ career

It is hard not to rank James’ 45-point outburst in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics. It is quite surprising that he didn’t rank it in his top three. In Game 6, the Miami Heat trailed by 3-2 in the series, and LeBron’s legacy was on the line.

LeBron has himself admitted that 2018 was the year he felt like he was a complete player. Two buzzer beaters, one against the Indiana Pacers and one against the Toronto Raptors, and then beat the Boston Celtics in seven games in the Conference Finals. LeBron’s 2018 playoffs should be in the mix.

And finally, his 50-point game in Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals should make the cut. LeBron almost won Game 1 for the Cavaliers against an unbeatable Warriors by himself before the J.R. Smith blunder.

At 41, he is approaching the end of his career and is still dominating headlines with monstrous dunks and diving plays on the court. If he decides to call curtains on his career, King James certainly has left fans with moments they can tune back and reminisce for years.
