Brandon Clarke’s sudden demise shocked the NBA world. The 29-year-old Memphis Grizzlies forward’s passing received heartbreaking reactions from across the NBA and beyond, including his teammates. A week later, his fiancée, Amber Lorraine, broke her silence. 

On Sunday, Lorraine posted a long message and several pictures of them together in one frame in her tribute to Clarke. She revealed that the couple was going to get married soon before he suddenly passed away, with the reason still under investigation. 

In her long message, she described her deceased NBA player boyfriend as a man with a big heart. “You were the most special person, with the biggest heart. You made an impact on so many people, but most of all me,” she wrote.

Clarke and Lorraine were very private about their relationship. Clark kept a very low-key social media life and didn’t post much about his relationship. The last time he posted a picture with his fiancée was in 2024 from his sister’s wedding. The picture showed Clark and Lorraine cozied up in different pictures. Lorraine added that the couple was about to get married and start a family. 

“The day you proposed was the happiest day of my life, knowing I was gonna spend the rest of my life with my soulmate,” she wrote. “We were supposed to be married soon and eventually start a family and live on land with a bunch of animals and a garden.”

She also described their regular day when they would watch the Harry Potter movie together with Clarke’s favorite snacks on the side. Lorraine said that the NBA forward had a childlike wonder and made her laugh with his silly jokes, and made her “feel like the most special girl in the world.”

She closed the tribute with an emotional demand. “All I want is to hug you and kiss you and to hold you in my arms. I don’t know how to process that you aren’t here anymore. I love you always, Brandon, forever and always. Please keep watching over me, I need you,” she ended the tribute. 

Aside from the emotional note, she posted pictures of the couple, with one showing the NBA player on his knee, proposing to Lorraine. 

What happened to Brandon Clarke? 

It has been a week since Brandon Clark's passing rocked the NBA world, especially the Memphis Grizzlies team. However, there is still no clarification about the reason behind his death.

Around 5 p.m. on May 11, the Los Angeles Fire Department received a medical emergency call. When the paramedics reached the scene and attended to the unconscious Clarke, they declared him deceased, NBC4 reported.  

A week after his passing, officials are still investigating the cause of death. The reports said that the officials found paraphernalia inside the house where the Grizzlies player was currently living. 

Clark played his NBA career for the Memphis Grizzlies. The OKC Thunder selected him 21st overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, but traded him to the Grizzlies on the same night. In seven years with the Grizzlies, he averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 309 games.
