Nick Wright Explains Why LeBron James Will Play 25 Years in the NBA

Every year, we have been wondering when LeBron James will play the last time in the NBA for a while now. While King James has shown no signs of stopping, there might finally be a stopping point.

According to American TV personality Nick Wright, James will most probably play two more years at a minimum, thanks to his size, strength, and an IQ that is only going to get sharper as we go.

"23 years completed in the league he still has the athleticism to lead the NBA in fast break points. Means it will be a long time till he’s at an athletic disadvantage. And so, this is where we are. With the greatest pure athlete in recorded history.” He said on What's Wright? with Nick Wright.

Wright's prediction makes sense, as James just signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, making him see out Years 24 and 25.

With the summer window the 76ers have just had, James would want to maximize his chances of winning his fifth championship.

And with a lineup that consists of LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe, you could say it is more than possible if the team's chemistry works out well.

Regardless, such news puts the Los Angeles Lakers at a loss no matter how we look at it. While the Lakers wanted to start a rebuild, acquiring James' talents for $8 million would have arguably made them the better team over the 76ers.

Apart from Wright, even league insider Marc Stein believes James will be here for more than a season, at least.

Philadelphia 76ers Fans Can Rejoice with Latest LeBron James Update

Stein also predicted on Tuesday that there are high chances  James might not just play in the upcoming campaign for the 76ers, but will stretch his career out through 2027-28 to render it an even quarter century (25 years) in length.

“I wrote that I expected the 2025-26 season to be LeBron’s last as a Laker (true) … and then added that the prospect of LeBron playing 25 seasons ‘is a legit possibility on the board,'” Stein wrote. “Now even James, one year later, is saying as much.”

James averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists last season in L.A. in an All-Star campaign (his 22nd in 23 seasons) and led the team without Luka Doncic and a mostly absent Austin Reaves to a first-round playoff series victory over the Houston Rockets.

With two more seasons realistically in play, the 76ers have not been more relevant than they are right now in recent memory, and need to capitalize on James' final years in the NBA both on and off the court.

So, do you think LeBron James can help bring a championship to Philly? Let us know in the comments.
