Patients at UCLA Receive a Special LeBron James Surprise

LeBron James decided to indulge in some wholesomeness, as the Lakers star paid a visit to those admitted at UCLA Health. The King was seen interacting with new mothers, gifting them blankets while their babies received onesies that said ‘Little Laker.’ James then went on to meet cardiology patients.
Though the visit was moving as a whole, an interaction that stood out the most was when LeBron James spoke to Daniel, an injured local firefighter. Expressing his respect to Daniel, James said, “I had to come visit you, man. You save a lot of people. You save all of us, and I wanted to come here and pay my respect to you.”
LeBron James did rounds and posed for pictures with doctors, who shared the images online, lauding the NBA superstar. Glimpses of the surprise hospital visit were shared on the Lakers’ social media handles as well.
But James wasn’t the only Lakers star in the house, as he was accompanied by Luka Doncic, who went on a side quest to meet a very special person.
Luka Doncic Meets a 7-Year-Old Fan
As King James went about surprising folks at UCLA Health, Luka Doncic was seen having a heartwarming conversation with Malachi, a 7-year-old cancer patient.
Doncic, in a clip once again shared on the Lakers’ social media handles, gave the child a signed jersey. Malachi, in return, drew something on a t-shirt for Doncic, after which the star posed for pictures with the child and his family.
Luka Doncic was later seen wearing a t-shirt signed by UCLA Health patients during warm-up sessions after the visit.
This visit is the most recent in the Lakers' culture of outreach programs with local hospitals, especially UCLA Health, as they have been working together since 2016.
UCLA Health, apart from being the team’s official healthcare provider, has committed itself to community outreach, education, and research in injury prevention and sports performance.
