As almost every single star player from the team LeBron James has been linked to has done their fair share of work in pitching ideas to lure the 41-year-old, analyst Kendrick Perkins wants Giannis Antetokounmpo to do the same.

Perkins believes that Miami Heat president Pat Riley did not bring the Milwaukee Bucks icon for leisure, but to win an NBA championship.

And who better to do it alongside than the two-time championship-winning Heat star, James himself.

"When Pat Riley lands his big whale, they delivered in big fashion. He didn’t bring Giannis down here to wiggle his toes in the sand. Giannis has to get uncomfortable, put his pride aside and pick that d*** phone up and call LeBron James,” Perkins said on First Take.

Following his introductory press conference with the Heat, Giannis gave interviews to several reporters, where one of them asked him to make a pitch for James.

However, Giannis said he’d rather not say anything to Bron because he believes he’s always made good decisions in his career, and that his winning a championship at every stop is proof of that. 

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Heat are one of the favorites to land James alongside the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers.

While players like Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown, and Tyrese Maxey have already expressed their desire for James to join them on their respective teams.

Perkins wants Giannis to do the same for the Heat, as he believes James' floor general and facilitator playstyle is exactly what they need to become instant title contenders.

Pat Riley Has Revealed the Kind of Player the Heat Will Target Next

As Perkins mentioned, Heat President Pat Riley recently declared on the “Le Batard Show” that the Heat are in a win-now mode.

With that, he mentioned how they now need to build a better team around their stars like Giannis and Bam Adebayo and are in search of an elite playmaker.

“Everybody talks about shooting; that’s not the main priority right now. It’s another real playmaker. Tyler was great. Norm Powell could score at the end of games and get their own shot and stuff. So we need a little more of that. We got a great power rotation. And we got great depth,” Riles added.

While James is 41, he showed the world what he is still capable of throughout last season, topping it off by almost single-handedly winning the first round of the playoffs for the Los Angeles Lakers.

James is expected to announce his decision soon, so if it is any team other than the Heat, maybe Giannis pitching for James is not a bad idea after all.
