Skip Bayless Calls Victor Wembanyama’s Performance a Response to Wolves’ ‘Bullying’

The much-anticipated Game 5 clash between the Spurs and the Wolves delivered what many expected: A Victor Wembanyama show in response to Game 4 ejection. Following the eventful performance, veteran analyst Skip Bayless sent a message to the Wolves fold.

The 7-foot-5 big man, in the opening six minutes, exploded with 16 points, leaving the Wolves stunned. He continued to dominate the court on both ends, producing 27 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 blocks to produce a commanding 126-97 win.

In response to Victor Wembanyama’s performance, Skip Bayless wrote, “I don't think Wemby owed his teammates tonight, he owed the TWolves who've tried to bully and intimidate him,” via his X handle.

The 74-year-old analyst specifically mentioned Naz Reid, who was involved in Wemby’s controversial elbow that sent him to the floor.

“27/17/5 with 3 blocks was for Naz and Co.”

While the majority agreed with the ref’s decision to eject Wembanyama from the court in Game 4, only a few questioned it. Bayless was one of them.

“Come on, don’t throw Wembanyama out of Game 4,” Bayless wrote on his X.

“They were all over him, fouling the h** out of him. So he got frustrated and fought back. Just ridiculous.”

In response to all this outcry, Wemby responded with a dominant display on Tuesday night, putting the Spurs in the driver’s seat with a 3-2 series lead.

Anthony Edwards speaks on Victor Wembanyama’s Game 5 performance

A lot of anticipated on the Wolves guard as well. After returning from the injury, Anthony Edwards has continued to improve his contribution to the team.

Tonight, Antman took up the Wemby responsibility on his shoulders, guarding him on multiple occasions. Although he clamped the big man on several occasions, it was Wemby who won the battle.

Speaking after the loss, Antman acknowledged the Wolves’ struggle in keeping the big man silent.

“Some of the stuff Wemby was doing, you don’t really have an answer for,” Edwards told the reporters at the postgame presser.

At the same time, Edwards had a quiet night on the offensive end, dropping 20 points on a 6-13 FG. Despite small offensive spurts, the Wolves couldn’t really recover from Wemby’s early explosion.

The Wolves will now face elimination at home in Game 6. With the talent resting on the Wolves' bench, the team could force Game 7. Let us know what you think in the comments.
