A Warriors-Stephen Curry separation is an unlikely scenario, but the chance of that happening has never looked more probable.
The four-time champion has often clarified that he still wants to compete for the title. However, given how low on depth the Warriors are aside from Curry, their only option to add any talent would mean giving up first-round picks.
The Warriors can pull the trigger and make a blockbuster trade to give Curry a chance. However, that would mean deliberately jeopardizing their future in the post-Curry era.

According to Sportnaut's Jason Burgos' report this week, these are the top three "realistic" destinations for the NBA legend.
3 realistic trade destinations for Stephen Curry
1. Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic have been trying to become a top-tier team for a few years now. Their blockbuster trade involving Desmond Bane was aimed at helping them become serious contenders.
But they barely played to their potential last season. The Magic exited in the first round of the playoffs.
With five first-round picks through 2033, Orlando has the draft capital to sweeten a proposal. They can combine a few draft picks with players like Jalen Suggs to entice the Warriors.
2. San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are an obvious destination for Curry. His only reason to leave the Warriors would be to win a title, and what better place could he go to win it all?
The Spurs reached the NBA Finals last season with their raw talent. Curry will be their certificate of the best team in the league.
Victor Wembanyama has emerged as an extraterrestrial talent. He is the best defensive player in the league, which gives the Spurs a big edge. But he is still compromised on offense. The addition of Curry will make them an elite offensive team too.
San Antonio can offer De’Aaron Fox and a few first-round draft picks in exchange for Curry. The trade could make the Spurs win multiple titles.
3. Houston Rockets
If there is one team that desperately wants to win a title, it's the Houston Rockets. Before last season, they made the Kevin Durant trade because both parties had a title on their mind.
The Rockets faced humiliation by LeBron James and the Lakers in the first round.
Houston would also give Curry a realistic chance to win a title. He has two titles with Durant, and he can recreate the championship magic in H-Town.
The Rockets have a good package of young talent to offer. They can add Jabari Smith Jr. and Fred VanVleet along with a few draft picks to complete an offer that the Warriors might not want to reject.
Along with the three headline destinations, Burgos' report also mentioned the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Hornets as potential landing spots for Stephen Curry.
Which team do you think gives Curry the best chance to win the title?
