Stephen Curry's wife Ayesha teases longevity for Warriors star with recent comment

Stephen Curry is getting ready for his 18th NBA season. His wife, Ayesha Curry, has given Golden State Warriors fans a reason to believe that Curry could continue playing for several more years.

During an appearance with Stephen Curry on NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dubs Talk with Dalton Johnson via YouTube, Ayesha strongly backed Curry and spoke about how hard he has worked since last season ended.

“Of course. This is like the hardest-working man in the room, okay?” Ayesha Curry. “No days off. He hasn't stopped since last season ended, and so he's ready. He's ready to get out there.”

Ayesha’s comments show that Curry has kept working hard during the offseason. He also looks ready to return to the court. In the same conversation with Johnson, she then gave an even bigger hint about Curry’s future.

Her comments suggested that fans could see more than just one more season from the Warriors star.

“I think we're going to be in for some fun surprises over the next couple of years,” Ayesha concluded.

This comment stands out because Ayesha talked about the “next couple of years.” She did not only talk about the upcoming season. Her words suggest that Curry’s family sees him playing for more years.

The comments came Monday during the seventh annual Workday Charity Classic. The event supports the Currys’ Eat. Learn. Play. foundation.

Ayesha’s comments have added more interest to Curry’s future. Curry has also spoken about his desire to stay with Golden State, giving fans another reason to watch what happens next.

Stephen Curry wants to stay with Golden State

Stephen Curry has often said that he wants to finish his career with the Warriors. That makes Ayesha’s confidence in his future even more important.

During the same Dubs Talk appearance, Dalton Johnson asked Curry about his extension and whether signing a new deal was one of his goals this offseason. Curry made his plans clear.

“I want to be here the rest of my career, and I'm pretty sure that's going to happen,” Curry said.

Curry also said the contract talks would happen at the right time. For now, the team wants to focus on getting ready for the new season. He also pointed out that staying healthy is very important after he missed many games last season.

According to Ayomide Adeduyite of Athlon Sports, Curry is entering the final year of his current contract. He is eligible for a two-year extension worth up to $136.7 million. Curry played only 43 games last season because of injury but still averaged 26.6 points per game.

The same Athlon Sports also reported that Golden State finished 37-45 and missed the playoffs. Jimmy Butler is also recovering from an ACL injury. The Warriors did not make many big moves during the offseason.

This makes Ayesha’s comments even more interesting. Curry wants to stay in Golden State, while Ayesha believes there could be more big moments in the next few years.

For Warriors fans, that could mean more memorable Curry performances are still ahead.
