Steph Curry's limp in China has reignited injury fears. Golden State Warriors cannot afford another injury-ridden season for Steph Curry, with the entire franchise built around the two-time MVP.
Curry was in China to promote his new Li-Ning partnership. However, on Thursday, the video of him limping caught widespread attention. Monte Poole, who covers the Warriors for NBC Sports Bay Area, revealed the point guard’s injury status.
“There’s at least some lingering concern about the knee,” Poole said. “It can be managed, but it has to be managed, and that’s a new thing for Steph.”

Curry appeared in only 43 games during the 2025-26 season due to patellofemoral pain syndrome in his right knee. Through rest and treatment, the Dubs brought him back, as reported by The Eastern Herald's Amanda Graham.
Although Curry has expressed his wish to play 70-plus games in the upcoming season, the few seconds of footage from China has raised concerns. In fact, he was seen wearing a knee sleeve.
“Curry, hopefully, will be healthy this year,” Warriors governor Joe Lacob said earlier this summer. “We don’t know.”
Training camp opens at BYU-Hawaii for the Dubs on September 29, and the franchise would be praying for an injury-free Curry.
Despite the medical issues last season, the four-time NBA champion averaged 25.7 points per game in his shortened 43-game run.
Without a doubt, Curry alone can bring the Warriors back to contention.
In fact, the Warriors are planning to bolster their attack by trading a 5x NBA All-Star.
Booker trade buzz: Warriors' bid to bolster Curry's support
According to Golden State Warriors insider Tim Kawakami of The San Francisco Standard, the Warriors love Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker and would be "first in line" to trade for him if he ever became available.
“I think the Warriors like him too much if you ask me. But they love him. Steve [Kerr] loves him,” he said on the Warriors Plus/Minus podcast. "I know the Warriors would be first in line saying, ‘We got three first-round picks we can give you.’”
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has always spoken highly of Booker, especially during Team USA's Olympic gold medal run at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Booker could be the ideal option for the Dubs, who are looking to bolster their scoring options around their marquee man, Steph Curry.
