Steve Kerr Addresses Warriors’ Crisis of Losing Three Players in One Game

Mar 14, 2026, 4:04 PM CUT

As the Golden State Warriors fall into one of their worst times, Steve Kerr’s recent update confirmed the severity of the situation.

The Warriors’ win-lose column doesn’t look good, with March 14 marking the 4th consecutive loss. If a 127-117 defeat from the Minnesota Timberwolves wasn’t bad enough, a massive injury surge followed. And the coach could barely find words.

“You saw how hard the guys played and stayed in it”, said Kerr during the postgame press meet. “We can’t ask anything more from our players right now. What they’re giving effort-wise, playing together. We’re about as beaten up as any team that I can remember, really.”

30 minutes before tip-off, Draymond Green opted out due to back soreness. And later on, Al Horford, Quinten Post, and Seth Curry followed, and despite coaching the Warriors for 11 years, Kerr found this heavy injury situation indescribable.

The team “got the fans into it” despite playing their last 16 games without Stephen Curry. While Kerr mentioned that the franchise cannot ask “more from the players”, he has given a bit of an update, but it isn't anything that fans would like to hear.

Steve Kerr Gave a Minute Not-So-Positive Update

Horford, who has been averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists this season, left the paint with calf tightness in the first quarter, after scoring 3 points and 1 rebound. And Kerr has updated what’s in for the Warriors Center.

“With a calf, we’re not going to rush him back,” the coach said. However, no update followed on Quinten Post, who is averaging 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds, and exited the game with a sprained ankle. He was able to score 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist before exiting.

Similarly, Kerr had no update on Seth, either, who limped out of the paint. And most importantly, there’s no insight on when the Warriors’ cornerstone Steph or Jimmy Butler will be coming back. All Kerr mentioned was that Curry would hit the paint whenever he’s good to go.

Such an injury-ridden roster does not help the 32-34 standing. As the Warriors play the NY Knicks on March 16, which new scenario do you think is waiting to catch Kerr off guard?
