"There’s Been None of That": Heat Insider Points to Key Sign of a Potential Giannis Move to Miami

Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks will be decided before the NBA Draft. With the Bucks star's future almost certainly set out of Milwaukee, the Miami Heat has become the hottest destination.

According to Ira Winderman, the Heat's longest tenured beat writer, Giannis ending up in Miami has become a real possibility. During his recent appearance on 104.3 WQAM, Winderman said that, unlike in the past, Miami is not pushing back on Antetokounmpo's rumor.

"The fact is, the Heat have not stopped any of this. I can't tell you how many times the Heat over the years will tell me ‘hey guys you need to back off a little.' Because they know the bad look at the end… There's been none of that," Winderman said.

The Heat were expected to pull a franchise-level trade this offseason.

"Last night I wrote my 'Heat get Giannis Antetokounmpo'…. I'm at that point that I think it is that possible — that I got to have that story ready," Winderman said. "I think saying 50/50 might be selling this a little bit short. Everything seems to be pointing in this direction."

And indeed, there have been major signs of this trade happening.

Last month, ESPN insider Shams Charania reported that the Bucks co-owner, Jimmy Haslam, told reporters that the decision will be made in the next few weeks.

According to Haslam, Giannis and the Bucks will decide if he is "going to sign a max contract and stay with us or he's going to play somewhere else."

If Antetokounmpo lands in Miami, it will immediately put the Heat among the favorites in the East, and the rumor is getting serious every hour.

Latest Report Confirms The "Serious" Talk of Giannis Antetokounmpo Landing in Miami

With the Heat in pursuit of Giannis, almost everybody on their roster becomes a trade asset. The Heat doesn't seem to care if all their players know that they are all shipping pieces.

According to NBA reporter Matt Moore, people inside the Bucks' closed circuit have confirmed that the team is serious about getting Giannis, as he said on the Locked on NBA podcast.

“It sounds like there’s optimism inside the building (Heat) and there’s stuff in Milwaukee. Surprising thing to me is that when I checked with people that are in the orbit of MIL, I wasn’t met with ‘nope, not real.’ — They were kind of like ‘yeah, there’s serious talks going on, with Miami.’”

Since the mid-2025-26 season, there have been reports of a growing gap between Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. It was reported that the Greek Freak wanted to return to the court after rehabbing his knee injury. However, the Bucks' doctors overruled it.

Since then, a lot of teams have been linked to the All-Star player. However, according to Moore, "a lot of suitors, theoretically, have dropped out."

With the Heat's path cleared to land Giannis, do you think he will make Miami a title contender? Let us know in the comments.
