Steve Kerr has always spoken highly of Devin Booker. Now reports suggest the Golden State Warriors are ready to surrender tons of assets for the Phoenix Suns star, which is not a surprise.
According to Golden State Warriors insider/The San Francisco Standard's Tim Kawakami, the Warriors love Booker and would be "first in line" to trade for him if he ever became available.
“I think the Warriors like him too much if you ask me. But they love him. Steve [Kerr] loves him,” Kawakami said. "I know the Warriors would be first in line saying, ‘We got three first-round picks we can give you.’”

Booker could be the ideal option for the Warriors, as pointed out by Kawakami on the Warriors Plus/Minus podcast.
The Dubs are looking to bolster their scoring options around their marquee man Steph Curry. Booker's scoring ability needs no introduction.
On top of that, Booker and Kerr share a bond of mutual admiration stemming from their time in Team USA's Olympic gold medal run at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“Nobody asked about Devin. He was incredible this entire run, just what he does play to play," Kerr said after the 2024 Olympic Gold win. "Rock solid, completely changed his role from the NBA to now. He was kind of our unsung MVP.”
Rumors about a trade away from the Phoenix Suns have often popped up for Booker. The star player has zero NBA titles to show for despite his incredible individual record.
A move to the Warriors could be his best shot at that. However, it’s highly unlikely he’ll head out of the Suns in recent future.
Booker committed to Phoenix
The Phoenix Suns have never showcased any intention to move Booker. In fact, their owner, Mat Ishbia, has made the franchise’s stance clear.
"Devin Booker is our franchise player," Ishbia said earlier, per Sports Illustrated’s Donnie Druin. “Devin Booker is going to be here. Devin Booker is going to lead us to a championship here in Phoenix."
Booker signed a two-year, $145 million extension in 2025 with the Suns that keeps him through the 2029-30 season.
Booker remains committed to the cause of leading the Suns to their first NBA title. The Dubs move looks more like a future possibility.
