Taylor Swift has become a frequent courtside presence at basketball, apart from her usual appearances at her fiancé Travis Kelce’s NFL games. The pair were recently spotted courtside at Game 3 of the Playoff series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks, and Swift made the day special for some fans.
While hosting the Knicks, the Cavs faced their third straight loss in a 108-121 defeat. While it was a dark day for Donovan Mitchell and Co, Swift shared a brief moment with young fans as she was leaving the arena post-game.
The 36-year-old singer-songwriter was seen stopping to interact with her fans on her way out. Per an X clip posted by Taylor Swift Charts, she hugged and took pictures with the young Cleveland fans, providing a memorable highlight despite the team's loss
While Swift and her fans had a bright moment, her fiancé and Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce, certainly did not. As a Cleveland native, the three-time Super Bowl champion was disappointed by the third loss in a row for his team.
While Swift has been a regular at Arrowhead Stadium to support her beau, Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce, have been long-term Cavs supporters. Towards the end of the third quarter, when the Cavs were trailing 91-82 to the Knicks, the jumbotron even showed the celebrity pair.
Kelce will have to swallow his pride, and so will the Cavs, as the Knicks look to be pushing for a clean sweep.
The Cleveland Cavaliers Face Elimination Threat After Third Consecutive Defeat
Spida and his team will need to give it their all in Game 4 on Monday if they want to extend this playoff series against the Knicks. Now down 3-0 in this semi-final series, the Cavs face elimination unless they can pull off a comeback.
Game 3 was a disappointing performance from Cleveland. They were unable to secure a lead throughout the game, with Knicks’ PG Jalen Brunson being hailed as the MVP by chanting crowds.
Brunson put up quite the show, bagging 30 points, along with 6 assists and 3 rebounds. Even though the Cavs' offense was decent, with Evan Mobley scoring 24 points and Donovan Mitchell scoring 23, it was not enough to hold off the Knicks.
The Knicks' offense shot 39% from outside the paint, compared to the Cavs’ 29%. They also beat the Cavs out in assists (27 to 22), steals (11 to 7), and blocks (4 to 1).
The Knicks roster seems too strong for the Cavs to keep up. With Brunson’s scoring prowess, Karl-Anthony Towns’ passing IQ, and Mikal Bridges' accuracy, the team is overwhelming the Cleveland side.
Mitchell and his team must find solutions to the Knicks' offense for the upcoming Game 4, as it is their only opportunity to find a place in the 2026 NBA finals.
Do you think the Cleveland Cavaliers can pull off a historic comeback and make it to the finals? Let us know in the comments.
